More than halfway though the week. Yahoo!
I'm 2 days away from vacation. Praise the Lord and Hallelujah!
Speaking of praising the Lord would you like to hear a funny story?
Of course you would. Why do I even ask?
One of the many joys of my job is the strange bizarre calls we get. My father was sad when I got married and moved out because I'm the best daughter ever and he misses me uncontrollably . . . actually it's because he misses the stories. My Dad worked at the crack of dawn for his whole career so he still gets up way too early. Because he still wakes so early I would get off from night shift, come home, and regale him with all the ridiculousness that occurred on my shift the night before. Some of the stories I could never tell you on this blog. Some of you would never want to hear them anyway. 90% of them are gross and pee your pants hysterical. To me anyway. And my Dad. :)
Anyway, last night I received a call from a woman who said that there was a woman sitting on a bench across from her job who she thought was crying. "It's so loud and sounds terrible. I didn't even know what that sound was but I can hear it clear across four lanes of traffic."
I, of course, send an officer out to check on this woman who is clearly in a very sad state. Or is she? Hmm...
He's out there for two seconds and then calls me and says she's not crying.
She singing and Praising Jesus.
So terrible she could hear it across four lanes of traffic?!
That's probably what I sound like in church.
Thank God Jesus loves all kinds of music right :)
Today's card is for the current CASE This Sketch. It was drawn by Leigh Penner and their guest artist is Marika Rahtu . I absolutely adore both of those girls so I had to make sure to play along. I'll probably be the last entry I'm cutting so close. It's okay I'm late to everything. My poor husband.
and my take
I used the dogwood from Wplus9's Flora and Fauna set. I've attempted to use this stamp several times before and never liked the results. This time I decided to try no line coloring. Even though I struggle with it. BIG time.
No joke, it's really freaking hard to make no line coloring look good. Yikes. I always feel like edges of my images are blurring together. I stamped the images on a panel I had die cut with a decorate edge. I stamped them all in Falling Star ink from Wplus9. It's a super soft gray.
I colored with my copics and added some details with my white gel pen.
The sentiment is another Wplus9 set called Hand Lettered Hello. I love how it's an outline. It looks so cool!!
The whole panel was added using craft foam to a white cardbase.
Thanks for stopping by!
