How has your week been?
Mine's been a bit much if I'm being honest.
Thankfully, I have the wonderful escape of cardmaking as my stress reducer. I can't tell you how many times I've sat down after a week like this to color and make pretty things and after I'm done it seems like all that bad stuff never happened. Whoo Hoo :)
I'm sure it's the same for many of you too.
Today I'm squeaking in to play along with CAS(E) This Sketch. It closes in two hours. :/ Yipes.
I'm not gonna lie when I first saw this sketch I could not think of another way to use besides exactly how everyone else was using it. Quite frankly, I couldn't use it that way any better than what's it the gallery. Did you see it over there? Pretty, pretty :) Finally, I had an idea formed to make it mine which was heavily influenced by the inspiration photo from the Fusion Card Challenge. . .
Is it weird that I used another sketch instead of the one provided? I hope not. I never know the rules with these things. Let's throw caution to the wind and see if they'll take it shall we?
I used an image called Daisy Window from A Day For Daises. The original image is a horizontal rectangle but before printing on to watercolor paper I removed the top line. This allowed me to use a black pen and a ruler to extend the size of the box. After I was done drawing the fence in I used my Peerless Watercolors to paint. I did the flowers first and then the background was done section by section. It seemed the easiest way to get a good blend. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts and I can't seem to stop using it. I need so many thank you cards lately! It's an awesome thing to have so much to be grateful for :)
That's it for me. I'm off to work.
Thanks for visiting!
