How are you doing? Hopefully good. The weather man said it was supposed to snow today. I hope all you folks in the Northeast are staying warm and safe!
Last week Create A Smile released some really fabulous stuff for December. If you read this post you know I'm a mad procrastinator so it's not surprising I did not post for the card I shared on the blog last week. So I though I'd take care of that now :) I'll also be sharing another card I made for a post today at Create A Smile.
I used the new set Balance for both cards.
I think this set is so versatile with all those little images. And how sweet are those sentiments? I think this will be super popular for Valentine's day.
Let's get to the first card . .
I used the pile of hearts included in the set to create an ombre background. I started with my lightest color and the colorless blender. As I moved down the card panel. I used the darkest color from the one before it and the next darkest color. . . .that sounds confusing . . .example time!
I used 0 + R10 for the first row.
I used RV10 + RV11 for the next row
I used RV11 +RV23 for the next and so on. Make more sense?
Once my background was colored I die cut a heart from white card stock and then backed it with vellum. The sentiment was stamped in black on top of the vellum. I added a bit of white gel pen to the YOU so it would stand out. I adhered it with dimensional adhesive.
Can you tell I was channeling Valentine's when making this?
Here is the second card I created with this stamp set
You can head over to the Create A Smile blog to read all about how I made this one.
