Home is Where the Housewarming is

Hello crafters!

Happy Monday to you! I know, I know are Monday's really happy?
Well, mine is. I'm starting a stretch of five days off! Whoop whoop! Granted my days will be spent cleaning but my nights will spent CRAFTING!!

Speaking of homes, Catherine Pooler just launched her new blog/makeover and she is throwing herself a little housewarming party.

She is giving away oodles and oodles of goodies to some lucky winners and you can play along by creating a house themed project.

Here's mine

I recently bought Simon Says Stamp's Nativity set to make some Christmas cards but I couldn't help but notice the manager is this adorable little house outline. The outline heart image is also in the set.
I decided to do a play on "Home is where the heart is" by filling my home with hearts!

I wanted this to be a one lay card so I stamped the outline house and then masked it to stamp my hearts. I colored them in an ombre pattern and outlined them in a soft teal blue. The sentiment is from Altenew's Super Script. After I stamped it I felt like it needed something on the left to balance it out. I just ran my darkest copic down the dies along my ruler to keep it straight. Because I must have everything framed in I lined it with a thin black marker too :)

I did want my one layer car to have some dimension so I added stickles to my hearts (show me your shocked face) and glossy accents to my sentiment. The black is soooo shiny. I love it!!

Okay that's it for me :)

Thanks for visiting!

XoXo

  6. The sparkle in your hearts caught my eye right away. I had to read your post to find out what you used. Very clever to use the nativity as a "house of love"!
