I'm sneaking in an early morning post :)
The deadline for Simon Says Stamp is looming and I wanted to get in a quick entry! (and I took so long writing this post I missed it, Poo! Well at least I still have the cute card to send!)
So my sister and a card-friend have both purchased new houses lately and I wanted to send them a little congratulations. I had originally planned on making two different cards but I love the way this one turned out so much I may just make another. Do you normally make multiples? I usually don't. I like having original cards for each recipient. However, I do have another half of a rainbow . . .
Don't you just love a scene? I started with a couple of different sets from Hero Arts. First I grabbed Right at home for the house, cloud, and sentiment. The grass is from Build a Garden (yeah it's old but still good :p) and the flowers are the little guys on Everyday Sayings.
I cut my rainbow using spellbinders small circles. Instead of nesting them evenly spaced I pushed them all to one side so my rainbow would have a thinner to thicker spread. (gah! I hope that makes sense) I colored each ring of the circle with distress ink: salty ocean, mowed lawn, squeezed lemonade, and festive berries. I also stamped the flowers and grass in the distress ink and trimmed them out.
I stamped the house multiple times on white, gray, and the grey double dot from Bo Bunny neutrals pack. I trimmed all my pieces parts out and assembled it the way I wanted. The only coloring I did was to the windows. I used tumbled glass and broken china to get my window look. The heart was colored with barn door, trimmed and adhered to the door. Before I added the flower blooms I drew stems with a peeled paint distress marker.
To pull the whole idea together I colored my card base with distress ink to create my sky and yard. Of course no card is complete without glossy accents and stardust stickles so I added those too :)
I can't wait to get this in the mail! I really don't do that enough, ha!
Thanks for popping in. I really appreciate all your sweet comments xoxo
