Good evening crafty friends!
It's been another fabulous week of celebrating over at A Blog Named Hero. This week some very special guests are joining us to share in our love for everything Hero Arts!
Today on the blog is the super duper talented Kathy Racoosin. Not only are her ideas always original and totally inspirational, she is a complete sweetheart too :)
So on to my card. In one of the online card classes I took the lovely Jennifer Mcguire showed a technique called "Patchwork stamping" The idea was to stamp one stamp in multiple colors of ink using masking. I decided to try this a little differently.
I used two of the feathers from Hero Arts Frames and Feathers to create a background. I masked off one inch diagonal stripes then stamped and masked my feathers in Neon inks.
It's definitely not perfect but I got better at lining them up as I went. I really love the way it turned out. It's like a pattern (the feathers) within a pattern (the colored stripes).
The sentiment is from Glow Girl but I only used the last part of it. To add the color I used some Souffle gel pens (yes I've had these for 10 + years lol). Because these pens are designed to puff up coloring just the circles inside the letters was super easy. I also added stardust stickles to make the letters and circle shine :)
It's time to hop over to A Blog Named Hero and see all the other fantastic creations! These girls are so talented you won't want to miss it :)
Thanks for visiting!
