Good evening crafters! Tonight we delve into the 18th challenge for A Blog Named Hero . . . Aren't you sooo excited?!
Yay for inking up the oldies but goodies :)
Here are the old stamps I used
All together they look like this:
I started by stamping my flower and coloring it with distress inks ( as seen here). I used Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves for the petals. The inside was colored with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed. I also stamped my three leaves and colored them as well. They are a combination of Mowed Lawn and Forest Moss.
To create the flat background panel I masked my cardbase and inked it up with Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Sapphire. I knew I wanted a subtle background so I decided to use the stamping with water technique. It is *exactly* what it sounds like hehe. I misted my flourish background with just plain water and stamped it over top of my card (with the mask still in place). It's so cool how it "removes' the ink to make such a subtle back ground!
Once I removed my mask I adhered my flower to the card. The leaves are adhered flat by just there base so they kind of stick up. The flower was added with dimensional adhesive. I decided I wanted to tie in the white "mat" by using white heat embossing. Lastly I finished that flower off with some stardust stickles (My name is Kelly and I am a stickles addict)
I love the way a different technique or a new ink can make old stamps look brand new again *swoon* You can head over to A Blog Named Hero to see all the other fabulous projects from the design team as well as play along yourself :)
