Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

Whew! This is the last one :)

I have never played along over at the Moxie Fab blog and I'm not really sure why. Once I saw this photo I new I had to make a project! Here is the Tuesday Trigger

and my take
This photo just screamed "sew me, sew me, sew me!" to the tune of the Just like Heaven by the Cure if that helps you envision it :)

I started with a white card base just like the photo. Now begin the paper piercing. I used two different templates for Bazzil. The first is Formal Flourishes for the stem and the flower is from Bring me Flowers.

I sewed using a bright blue and bright orange. I'm not sure of the manufacturer, sorry!

Once the sewing was complete I stamped my sentiment (Everyday Sayings, Hero Arts) on a 1/2 inch piece of white card stock. I layered that on top of a bright blue and then a pale blue punched with apron lace (EK Success). I glued the whole piece down flat.

I threaded three buttons with white thread and tied the last one in a small bow.

All done . . .wishing you a wonderful Thursday with no snow :)

Embellish Masculine

Hello again :)

This card is for Embellish Magazine Color Trends challenge. I love these colors together but the "challenge" part was a masculine card eeek! I don't know about you all but I really struggle with guy cards. So don't judge me too harshly :) Here are the colors

and my card (I apologize for the not so hot photography)

When I saw the colors they just screamed modern to me. So I started thinking about what could inspire me . . . insert teenage nephews. My Nephews are both huge brand name geeks and they love Aerpostale. More importantly they love the graphic tee's from that store. The paint splattered distressed look is so in for them and thankfully I've shopped for them :)

I started with three colors of paint and a white card base. I used a small sponge brush to paint the blue and green. Then I used an even smaller brush for the red.

Once it was completely dry I added a rub on from Creative Imaginations Rock Star swatch book. I also rubbed on 3 stars in the bottom left corner from the same book.

Pretty simple card but then again most guy cards are!

So Fresh

So this is actually the first card I did using OTWC colors this week.

When I first saw the colors I immediately thought apples. :) Thankfully I have the Hero Arts set Simply the Best! here are the colors again
and my card
This one is pretty simple but difficult to photograph all the glossy accents.

The card base is 7 1/2 x 3 3/4. I stamped the apples directly on the card for placement.

On a separate piece of white I stamped the apple 3 times. I colored them all the first is scattered straw, second is shabby shutters, and third is barn door. Once they all were colored I stamped over each of them in their same color using the Reversed Flowers and Leaves background stamp by Hero Arts. I was really disappointed that you can't see it well in the photo as is. You can see it better if you click on the photo to enlarge it. Once the apples were stamped I cut them out.

I also stamped the leaves three times and quickly colored them with peeled paint and my foam applicator. I cut them out and paper pieced them onto the apples.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set in jet black archival ink (Ranger) and then used my ruler and black gel pen to draw two lines.

I popped the apples on foam and then covered them in glossy accents. Once that was dry I added the rhinestones. I feel like they are a bit big but it's what I had on hand :) I couldn't rush out at 2am to buy rhinestones hehe

Enjoy all the sweet things

Happy Thursday to you!!

Here in Ohio I'm hoping are early spring snow melts (no accumulation, yeah right weather man) soon.
I have had several crafty days but no time to photograph and post so I apologize if your mailbox is inundated with blog posts :)

I am entering this into OTWC challenge and here are the colors we're playing with

and here is my card
For the There She Goes Challenge we had to build a scene on a monochromatic background using only one popped up image. I used the window sill and created a brick like background. All the Stamps used on this card are from Art is the Window.

I started with white cardstock and rubbed on some barn door distress ink. I stamped the window sill (brick) repeatedly in poppy ink (Hero Arts). For the shape I used nesties Labels 8. I wanted the card to have a border so I left the top piece in the die and traced the inside edge with a black gel pen.

On a separate sheet of white I stamped the window twice, the bird, the window sill, and the pie.

I rubbed shabby shutters on one of the windows and then stamped over it in shabby shutters again using the Reversed Flowers and Leaves background from Hero Arts. From this window I just cut out the curtains.

On the second window I used a light gray marker to color in the middle sections of the shutters. I used a metallic gel pen on the knobs and hinges. I also colored in the flowers with a yellow marker. I used an H20 pen and tumbled glass to color the actual window. Once all my coloring was done I cut the window out.

I colored the bird using the same yellow marker as the flowers. For the pie I used brushed corduroy, a red marker, and the metallic gel pen. I cut out the bird and pie.

I paper pieced the previously cut out curtains onto the main window then added the cut out window sill. I stamped the bird and pie onto the window so my bird would have feet and my pie would have steam.

I glued the bird and pie down flat then added the whole window on pop dots. Last I stamped my sentiment in black.

Thanks for stopping by and don't worry I'll be back in like 15 minutes lol

Thanks Friend!

So Lawn Fawn stamps have been on my wish list for quite sometime and this week I finally got some! Just in time for for Wee Memories and Lawnscaping challenge combo, woo hoo :) The theme is cute and cuddly.
I bought 4 lawn fawn sets: Bannerific, Critters in the burbs, Critters in the forest, and Judy's blooms.
I used Both Critter sets for my card. All the stamps used on this card are Lawn Fawn.

I started by cutting the green polka dot paper (DCWV, Baby boy) with my edge scissors to about 1 1/4 x 5 1/2. I adhered that to the cloud paper (American crafts, everyday). I than cut out my panel using nesties Labels 8.

I stamped the porcupine, squirrel, acorn, leaf and mushrooms on a separate piece of white. I colored them in using markers (Marvey and Whispers). I then fussy cut them out.

I wrapped brown embroidery floss around a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of magenta card stock and adhered it to a white cardstock base. I popped the main image panel up on foam and adhered that too.

I laid out all my pieces and stamped my "hop" spaces in jet black archival ink (Ranger). I adhered all the pieces with foam and added my sentiment.

A brown embroidery floss bow, white gel pen,  and an orange button finished it off.

I'm off to see Beastly with my hubbie. Happy Friday!!

So glad we're friends

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It's gorgeous here in Ohio! Yay Spring!! I have to enjoy it while it's here because it could be snowing tomorrow :)

Today I am entering a few fun challenges. The first is There She Goes Stamps Sketch. During the OWH Bunny hop I won a set of There She Goes clear stamps (woo hoo) not only am I excited because I won free stamps but they are a great quality. I was pleasantly surprised by what I a little treasure I won. I have never used any of their stamps so I am playing along with them for the first time. Here is the sketch

Next I am entering into Wee Memories "Spring is near, Green is here" We could choose between a Spring card or a green card. This is my Spring card.

Lastly I am playing along with Joanne's Blogaversary. We had to choose 3 things off the list to make our card. I chose Kraft, Pink, Ivory, Orange color combo, and mixed stitching.

Finally here is the card :)

I started by stamping the window (All stamps are There She Goes unless otherwise noted) on white, pink, and orange. I paper pieced the curtains and decorative window pieces. I stamped the flowers on white and colored them in using markers (Whispers strokes) For the planter I used a silver metallic gel pen. I cut all my pieces out.

I cut a pink polka dot piece to 1 3/4 x 4 1/4. I cut my orange piece to 1 x 4 1/4, then punched it (EK Success). I cut two pieces of craft one to 3 1/2 x 4 and the second to 1 x 4 1/4. The second piece I used a border punch (EK success).

Now for the sewing :) I don't have a sewing machine so I do it all using a template, paper piercer, needle, and thread. I also glue everything before I start. I punched 3 circles from the orange and sewed them on using a cross stitch. To border my Large kraft piece I used a straight stitch. Finally to adhere my pink polka dots and kraft border punch a zig zag stitch.

I glued all my paper strips, kraft panel, and window down flat. I popped the flowers up on foam.

For the sentiment I stamped the banner (Prickley Pear) on white and then fussy cut. The little bird was stamped on orange polka dot but then rubbed with wild honey to make it more solid.

Of course I added stardust stickles to the flowers and was done :)

Thanks for visiting, now I'm going out to enjoy this beautiful weather!!

Thanks a bunch!

If you follow my blog regularly you know I love a sketch challenge. More particularly I love Get Sketchy! They always have such great sketches.

So here is this weeks
and here is my take

I started by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 3 x 4. I stamped the flower (Stampendous, narcissus) on this piece and a separate piece of white card stock. I colored the separate piece with my H20 pen (Zig) and scattered straw and then cut it out.

I cut another piece of white to 3 x 1 and stamped the background (Stampendous, petals nouveau) with broken china. I cut two sections of white ribbon and colored them with broken china.

I punched the scallop edge (EK Success) and colored it with scattered straw. I cut it down so the scallop was a little smaller.

I adhered the blue panel flat, then added my scallop and ribbon also flat. I made my bow with the Bow Easy.

I adhered my flowers with foam then trimmed the edges so it was even with my panel.

For the cardbase I stamped the sentiment (Stampendous, narcissus) in jet black archival ink (Ranger). I drew a black line around the edge 1/4" in with a gel pen and a ruler. I stamped the polka dots (Oriental Trading, fruit salad) in tumbled glass.

Lastly I adhered the image panel with foam, added stardust stickles to my flowers, and two rhinestones.

Happy creating!

Happy Birthday to a Great Friend!

I missed playing along with OTWC last week so I wanted to make sure that I made time this week.

I absolutely love these colors! These colors really remind you that Spring is right around the corner :) and since we are supposed to get 6 -10 inches of snow tonight I really needed some spring!

I am also entering this card into Hero Arts monthly contest. The theme this month is Birthday Wishes.

I started by stamping the polka dot background (Oriental Trading, fruit salad) in versamark and heat embossing with white. I rubbed on tumbled glass over the entire background panel.

I stamped my flowers (Hero Arts, flower blossom)once on the card for placement and once on a scrap piece. I did this for all four flowers. I colored the leaves on my panel with my H20 pen and shabby shutters. I quickly colored the flowers stamped on my scrap pieces with spun sugar, worn lipstick, scattered straw, and broken china then cut them all out.

For my sentiment I used my nesties Labels 4 to create the frame for my sentiment. i cut the first one directly out of the panel. For the "frame" I cut the same size out of a scrap piece, colored the negative with broken china, I then lined the die back up on the negative piece and traced around the outer border. I cut it out by hand.

I lined up the polka dot piece on my white card base and traced around the cut out. I then stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts, all occasion messages) in jet black archival ink (Ranger)

I adhered the polka dot panel to the base using foam. I used more foam to attach my flowers. I added rhinestones and stardust stickles for some shine.

Thanks for coming over and having a look!

Operation Write Home Bunny Hop

Good Morning! I'm sure you have been having a so much fun scoping out all the inspiration along this hop. You should have come here from Jennifer's blog Makeup & Markers (How cute is that match book card, adorable), if not you can start at the beginning at the OWH Stars & Stamps blog.
Before we get to the card just a few reminders. The Easter deadline is March 18th and the Mother's day deadline is March 31st. Also did you know that you can further help out the wonderful mailers at OWH by getting a Operation Write Stamp for the back of your cards? One of them is even free!! Check it out here.

I decided to make two cards for today's hop. The first one is a cute simple Easter card.

I cut white card stock to an A2 size card and scored the front of it every 1/4 inch. It looks like beadboard to me and it's a super simply way to add texture! I stamped the bunny (Stampendous, Blockart Bunny) and the banner (Prickly Pear, Hot Air Balloons) on a separate piece of white card stock. I colored them in with my H20 pen and distress ink. I used black soot, spun sugar, tumbled glass, shabby shutters, and scattered straw. Cut them out and attached with pop dots. I added stickles for a little shine to the eggs and them encapsulated it in glossy accents so there is zero chance it will rub off.

This one is just a cheery spring card! I used this sketch from Cardabilities challenge and chose my colors from a challenge The wonderful Kathy, Deborah, and Vicky are doing. The colors were Copic Y38, YR68, B12, and YG03. I didn't have the copics so I used distress ink in similar colors.

I cut the card base to A2 size. I stamped the flowers (Stampendous, Daisy trio) on a separate piece of white and colored in using scattered straw, wild honey, and shabby shutters. I cut it out using my cutterbee. I cut a piece of white to 1 1/2 x 5 1/2. I rubbed some tumbled glass and then stamped (Stampendous, Petals Nouveau) in broken china. I cut another piece of white 1 x 5 1/2 and stamped the small polka dots (Oriental Trading, Fruit Salad) in versa mark and heat embossed in white. I colored the strip with shabby shutters and punched (EK Success) the scallop border. For the circles I used nesties circles and scallop circles both in small then colored them with scattered straw. I inked all the edges in black soot. The sentiment is from Unity's Could I be an cuter. I adhered everything flat except for the flowers, I added that with foam. A little glossy accents in the flower centers and done :)

Thanks for visiting and supporting OWH. Your next stop is Leslierahye

Okay if you made it this long God Bless You!! I know it's a long hop but as a reward I'm doing a giveaway!!! and I'm going to let you pick :)

I'm going to give one random commenter either a surprise pack filled with stamps, embellishments . .etc. or a $10.00 gift certificate to I {heart} Papers. Be sure to let me know in your comment which you would rather have!

Happy hopping!!!
