Onto the card
Another using the Off The Wall Craftiness colors
To start this card I busted out the good old acrylic paint :) It's been a while since I painted and I didn't have a teal/orange pattern in my stash. So why not make it right?
I squeezed the teal and orange paint onto my craft mat, using a make up sponge I swiped it on 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 piece of white card stock. Once it was completely dry I roughed up the edges with my scissors and rubbed on some black soot.
Here is a close up of the background
I cut my card base out of white card stock and stamped the swirls (Hero Arts, Magical Background) in versa mark. I heat embossed with clear. You can't really see it in the photo but in real life it makes a big difference. Funny how sometimes it's the things that aren't noticable right away are things you would notice if they weren't there. After embossing I inked the edges with black soot.
Using a piece of white card stock I rubbed on some spiced marmalade. I just used what was on my foam already since I wanted it to be soft. I then stamped the Orange slices (Oriental trading, Fruit Salad) using spiced marmalade. When I want to emboss with distress ink I ink my stamp with versa mark and then the distress ink that way I don't have to crazy rush to get the powder in there. :) I heat embossed all the oranges with clear and then cut them out. I outlined them with stardust stickles and adhered a rhinestone in the middle.
For the tag I used a template then stamped the sentiment (Oriental trading, Fruit Salad) using the teal acrylic paint. I just apply the paint with a makeup sponge, I try not to pile it on because i want it to be legible. Some of the areas don't always stamp complete since I don't gob it on, i just go back with a fine brush and fill it in.
I wrapped the painted panel with some embroidery floss, slid on my tag, and tied it in a bow. I secure my bows with glossy accents. I adhered the whole painted panel to the card base with foam and added the oranges with more foam.
Thanks for popping by . . . .one more post to go :)
