Happy Thursday to you all!
It's a happy Thursday here because they were calling for snow and so far . . . .so good :)
Today's card is for a couple of challenges:
The sketch is from The Sweet Stop
Sweet Stampin Challenge Clear as Mud (use brown and 1 other color)
Finally, here is my card
For the card base I used white card stock. I didn't have the color I wants so I used my h20 pen to moisten the edges then colored over it with my marker. Pre-moistening the paper causes the ink to bleed into the paper getting rid of those ugly marker lines.
I made this background paper a little while ago. I used my cuttlebug to emboss (Stylized Flowers, Cuttlebug)the background after I painted the male side with brown acrylic paint. I went back in with a smaller brush and filled in where the paint didn't transfer. I rubbed on antique linen all over, vintage photo to the outer edges, and walnut stain to the very outer edge. Lastly, I used my purplish marker to color the flowers, right over the paint (after it was dry of course hehe)
To make the border I took two one inch pieces of white card stock, I colored one with antique linen and the other with walnut stain. I punch a scallop border (EK Success) on the walnut piece. I glued the two together and wrapped ribbon around it, securing with a bow. I then cut out a tag, stamped my sentiment (Classic Messages, Hero Arts) with my purplish marker, rubbed on some antique linen and distressed the edges. To emphasize the tag I rubbed the distressed parts with walnut stain.
I adhered all the pieces flat except the main panel. I adhered that with foam.
Thanks for visiting! I know I don't always remember to say so :( but your wonderful comments are always so appreciated. Thank you all so much!!
