OWH. I used the sketch from this week to get my card started. Then I used the colors from The Pink Elephant's color challenge: Blue, Green & Red. I know the colors would have made a lovely Christmas card but I am a little behind on my goal for the Valentine cards for OWH. Plus, I just got this cute stamp in the mail and thought it made a perfect Valentine image, hehe! I"m also entering it into ABC Challenge J is for Jewels.
I started but cutting my labels from nesties Labels 4 in white card stock. I used my stampamajig to get the placement correct on the label then stamped in jet back archival ink. I pulled out some colors from my DCWV Citrus stack ( I am really loving these papers lately) and stamped the umbrella three times. Once on red, blue, and green. I used those to paper piece the umbrella. For the couple I colored them with distress ink and a H20 pen: broken china, black soot, crushed olive, and barn door. My pen was a little too wet so it bled a little but what are you gonna do? :) I rubbed some tumbled glass over the edges of the label and then inked them again direct to pad with broken china. For the gemstones I just used permanent marker to color clear rhinestones so they matched. The bejeweled umbrella reminds me of a carnival, not necessarily Valentines but fun nonetheless! I adhered all my layers to a white card base except the image panel. i adhered it with foam.
Thanks for stopping by, hopefully I'll have a few more posts tomorrow since I'm stuck in the house!!
