Since I do enjoy a blog challenge I created this card with OTWC color challenge and Wee Memories "Celebrate" challenge in mind. These are the colors for OTWC
Jennifer McGuire kick so I decided to use the block background technique again.
I started by inking up my acrylic block with crushed olive and added peeled paint distress ink to just the edges.
mini mister. I used about 3 sprays to cover.
Hero Arts Flourish background with peeled paint.
wild honey and spiced marmalade. spun sugar and worn lipstick. and dusty concord with chipped sapphire. I inked the entire block with the lighter color and added the darker color to the edges. I also stamped the flourish design with the darker color on every panel except the purple. I stamped in dusty concord because the chipped sapphire was more blue than I wanted.
Hero Arts Cupcakes poly clear set.
I stamped the cupcake and the little rose with Ranger archival jet black. I stamped the rose far enough away that it wouldn't get contaminated by the inking I would be doing on the cupcake.
next I stamped the cupcake again on Inkadinkado's mask paper and cut out the image.
I inked the entire top of the cupcake with spun sugar using by ink blending tool.
I added the next layer and inked just the very bottom with worn lipstick to create a little shadow.
lavender and the leaves are lime green
I set my rose aside to dry and went back to working with my color panels. The card base is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2. I knew I wanted about an inch on the bottom so I trimmed the panels accordingly. I inked the sides of each panel with the darker ink of that clor panel. Drew a line in pencil at 1 inch and laid out my pieces.
The sentiment I used is also from the Hero Arts Cupcakes clear set. In order to get my placement right I stamped on a scrap piece of paper.
The sentiment comes stacked on top of each other. I wanted it to stretch the card so I did some masking. I know I can cut them but I just can't bring myself to do it lol. So for those of you like me masking is a fantastic option. I masked off the cupcake.
inked up my archival jet black
now that my cupcake and rose are dry. I cut them out.
