After checking out Jennifer McGuire's thinking inking video I was motivated to bust out my embossing powder. I haven't embossed since we moved in and that was like 2 months ago!! Any who I also used the sketch for Get Sketchy's challenge Here is the sketch
I had to do some measuring (ACK!) to make sure everything it would fit and be spaced evenly. After that debacle was over I randomly stamped snowflakes on white paper with white embossing ink. The snowflakes are from various Hero Arts stamp sets including: Holiday Dolls, Snow, and Magic of Christmas. I covered them with white embossing powder (to have the whitest white ever!) and heat set it. Next, I started in with the distress ink. I used spun sugar, worn lipstick, tumbled glass, broken china, crushed olive, peeled paint, dusty concord, and chipped sapphire. You would think as often as I use these colors I didn't own any others, I do! I swear! I inked the entire piece with the lighter color and did the darker only on the edges. I also swiped the sides directly on the ink pads. I stamp the doll with archival jet black by Ranger. I colored her in using my H20 pen and the distress inks. Last I adhered all the panels on foam except for the two under my doll. I adhered her with foam as well. Here is a close up of the embossing and the dimension.
